About
I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida since 2017 and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania since 2012 . I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals.
As a mental health professional, I have worked in a variety of settings, which include crisis intervention, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, inpatient treatment, wrap around services and community outpatient therapy. I was given the opportunity to receive specialized training to provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy through Behavioral Tech, LLC. With this training, I became part of an organizational Dialectial Behavior Therapy (DBT) Program for adults and adolescents, which included individual DBT sessions, phone consultation and psychoeducational groups. I have also received training to provide Seeking Safety, a treatment for those with co-occuring Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Substance abuse. In 2017, I traveled to Rishikesh, India to complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training. This experience expanded my knowledge and awareness of the mind-body connection through the use of mindfulness, meditation, breath and yoga practices in order to regulate the nervous system. I obtained my Master’s Degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009 with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
In conducting therapy, I pull from a variety of treatment modalities but am grounded in cognitive behavioral practices. As a counselor, I think one of the most important aspects of therapy is being able to be open and honest with regards to your feelings, and the reasons that have brought you here. I intend to facilitate a safe space in order to support you in that process. As a therapist, I hold a set of assumptions with regards to those I serve. One of those assumptions is that “People are trying to do they best they can.” To me this means that you have probably tried to manage to the best of your ability given the current set of skills you possess. I feel that my job is to support and connect you with your own set of resources that will serve you in meeting your goals, becoming your best self and creating satisfaction in your life.
I’m glad that you have shown up to support your personal growth and look forward to supporting you on your journey.
