About
I am a licensed professional counselor who has been practicing in the field since 2008. I received my BA at the University of Texas at Dallas, and received both a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology (2003) and a master’s degree in Political Science (2004) from Sul Ross State University. I finished my clinical work and practicum at St. Edwards University in Austin. I have years of experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, stress management difficulties, adjustment disorders, bipolar disorder, anger management issues, grief, women’s issues, and issues with addiction.
I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and stress, as well as relationship and family conflicts. I utilize an eclectic approach in order to meet my clients where they are. In working with clients, I practice a strength-based approach in which helping clients with wellness, self-growth, and exploration is vital and foremost. I am particularly interested in trying to help clients feel more like the authors of their own lives in order to achieve what they hope for in all areas of their life. I strive to help my clients identify problematic thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in order to foster insight to create necessary changes for betterment of their lives.
I believe the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is the cornerstone for effective therapy. Safety and trust are the most important aspects of having a meaningful experience and therapeutic relationship. My top priority is to create a safe, warm and welcoming, non-judgmental space to help clients make lasting changes.
