Welcome! My name is Jacquelyn, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of North Carolina. I have 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including residential, outpatient, and telephonic crisis intervention. I also have experience working with active-duty military, their dependents, and Veterans. My services include working with individuals with a broad range of clinical issues of varying levels of severity. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, anger management, self-esteem, family/relationship issues, life transitions, and complex trauma (to include military sexual trauma and combat).

My dedication to the field of mental health stems from my military experience. I began to see the unique challenges of those who were serving our country. With these being my brothers and sisters in arms I felt a deep desire to help, or should I say serve them. From there my passion for serving others continued to grow and as they say, the rest is history. There is so much stigma around having behavioral health issues and the process for getting help can be frustrating, lonely, and simply overwhelming. I provide individuals with a safe space to express themselves and begin to work through their challenges. Life can profoundly change for the better when you find support and take steps towards taking care of yourself!

I use a person-centered, holistic, multicultural, and integrative approach in treatment. This means I begin where you are and tailor the treatment approach to your needs while being sensitive to how your individual cultural identities and lifestyle choices impact your experience. I primarily use evidence-based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. I also provide trauma focused therapy using Cognitive Processing Therapy.
I would describe my style as warm and supportive, and I am ready to help you tackle your struggles head-on. Collaboration is important. Together we can work on establishing concrete goals and steps for you to help overcome your current problems. Unfortunately, accomplishing goals is not a quick process but with time, commitment, and dedication we can get there! I like to remind people that just as improving our physical health takes time and consistency, so does improving mental health.
