Hello! My name is Helen and I am excited to support you on your journey to healing! I am an open-minded, non-judgmental, culturally sensitive person, who feels that everyone has the potential to grow and heal. I am currently a fully Licensed Professional Counselor and have been providing counseling with my associate license since 2016. I have worked in related fields as a special education teacher, case manager, and vocational specialist for the last 20 years, as well as autism services coordinator for a national non-profit for the last 11 years. I have assisted people who have a variety of mental health challenges, special needs, and substance use issues, in multiple settings. I am also a certified adaptive yoga instructor which is another passion of mine that I find can be beneficial for anyone.

I want to help people empower themselves and hone the tools and skills that I believe everyone embodies, and help them better cope with the challenges that they may be experiencing. I believe that one of the most important pieces of counseling is the therapeutic alliance and level of trust and comfort between the therapist and the person being treated. I feel that it is important to be patient with yourself on your healing journey as it is not always linear, and can take time. During that time I want to celebrate your uniqueness and what makes you who you are, while assisting you in reaching your treatment goals.

While I utilize techniques from many types of therapy, I feel it is essential to treat every person with dignity, respect, and compassion, so I always practice from the person/client centered theoretical framework.
