I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina with 13 years of practice and experience. I have worked with a wide range of clients in a vast array of settings from Private Practice, Hospitals, Public School Systems, College, State Prison and Community Agencies. In these settings I have worked with clients suffering from many concerns including depression, anxiety, guilt, fear, regret, relationship issues, identity development, parenting problems, career challenges, life transitions, interpersonal conflict, decision paralysis and more. While I have gained experience across the board and love working with many populations, I am drawn to the work that can be done with those who feel stuck, those who feel that they are "weird or quirky", individuals whom are developing their identity and family members that are supporting loved ones suffering from severe and persistent mental illness.

My education focused strongly on CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and a Strengths Perspective but other modalities are often blended in including but not limited to ACT, Narrative Therapy and Grief Therapy. I dont think that I nor my clients of the last decade would describe me as "warm and fuzzy" but a more likely description would include to the point, willing to challenge if needed, optimistic, present, impeccable memory of your story and your journey and good use of humor. If you are looking for someone to just quietly agree with you and ask "how does that make you feel", I am probably not the best fit. If you are looking for someone to start the session by asking about what we finished last time ( including knowing the names of your family, friends and animals), use some humor because laughing is healthy, call you out or step on toes when needed and then tell you how proud I am of your growth... well then, I'll see you soon!
