I come from a large family and am the only female of all my siblings. As such, I feel I understand men's issues on a deeper level. This led me to studying the field of men's issues in psychology. I wrote my thesis on male victims of intimate partner abuse as I saw many men who were victims in my practicum (both straight and LGBTQ) and quickly realized this was a larger issue that isn't discussed in mainstream media. Yet, there is such a large need for services surrounding victimization for men.
I worked for three years in a correctional facility as a therapist providing therapy for men who sought counseling for severe and complicated trauma from sexual abuse, physical abuse, intimate partner abuse as well a emotional abuse. This work was extremely rewarding however, I felt I would be able to do better work and reach more people in the community prior to prison or after being released. As a therapist I for men I offer:
