I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and currently work as a Behavioral Health Consultant with Community Access Network in Lynchburg, VA. I am the Owner and Director of Tweedy Mentoring Services LLC, which for the past 19 years has provided mentoring services, employment opportunities, and positive role modeling to youth in our community. In the past two years Tweedy Mentoring Services has contracted with the local Department of Social Services to provide Outpatient Counseling and Family Support Services to fathers who have children in foster care placements. For the past 10 years I have volunteered providing group counseling services to inmates participating with the Re-Entry Programs at the Lynchburg and Amherst Regional Jails. I have served the community as a volunteer and board member for Roads to Recovery Program (presently) and Lynchburg Grows. I served as founding President of the Hill City Football and Cheerleading Association, a member of the Equity Task Force with Lynchburg City Schools, a member of the Lynchburg Area Counseling Association, and as member of the Gamma Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Fraternity Inc. I am a supporter and active participant on a local, state and national level; with many groups and organizations that work for equity and fairness. I hold a BS degree in Sociology from James Madison University, and a Master’s in Education degree (Clinical Mental Health Counseling) from Lynchburg College in Virginia. I am currently divorced but was married for a period of 22 years. I am a father of 6, a son, a brother and friend to many.
