Elizabeth Graves, LCSW. I am a Christian mental health therapist and have been practicing for more than 5 years. I like to meet the client where they are, see what they feel their needs are, and go from there. I specialize in attachment wounds from childhood, trauma, and anxiety. I truly believe getting to the core wound can help people heal. I am eclectic in my therapeutic approach as I learn what each person is dealing with. I like to use the psychosocial theory, attachment theory, empowerment theory, cognitive behavioral theory, and narrative model. I have used all these successfully to meet my clients where they are to help them heal and have a happier life. I like to work with clients who are ready and motivated to change. Dealing with our trauma or core wounds from childhood is not easy and it takes work to process through difficult emotions. But if my clients are committed, then I will stand by them in this process of healing. I am most comfortable working with trauma, attachment issues, anxiety, grief, and mood disorders. I like to create an open, trusting environment. I believe in trust through transparency. I don't come to session stating to have all the answers but I am willing to work with you to find them. I started my journey as a therapist over 30 years ago. I first worked in community mental health and then went overseas as a missionary for 23 years. After coming back to the States 6 years ago, began the process of getting into therapy again. I have worked on a crisis/suicide hotline, nursing home social work, hospice social work, and even in a Neurotherapy clinic. I love helping people heal. I believe in listening to the client and using mirroring to be sure I am understanding them correctly. I like to state the goal I am hearing from their situation and have them clarify it further if needed until we agree on an attainable goal for them. The client already has goals and desires. It's my job to help them articulate them and make them attainable
