Hi! I’m Sara. My name is Sara Bowerman and I’m a licensed psychologist in California. My approach to clients is to create a positive, supportive relationship to help you identify and reach your goals for growth, change, and achieving the new directions you desire in your life. My approach In my therapy with clients, I use goal setting, developing coping skills, DBT, CBT, and am beginning to incorporate EMDR techniques as well into my practice. I work primarily with individual adults and work on issues including stress management, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties in a comfortable, non-judgmental setting. I work with my clients to build skills to feel better about themselves and develop a positive outlook regarding themselves and their life. My focus I’m comfortable treating women, men, LGBTQIA+, varied age ranges, people from varied ethnicities or cultures, and addressing the struggles my clients are currently working on. My communication style I enjoy creating an environment that is calm, supportive, and empathic and creating a space for my clients to begin to grow and pursue their goals and objectives in their life. My journey to mental healthcare I began my journey to become a therapist in high school before I ever realized that there was such a wonderful, helping profession available for me as a career choice. I joined a training group in high school as a peer counselor learning counseling and communication skills. From there, I continued to pursue activities, classes, and degrees to continue to pursue this field and be able to help others whether they are clients, friends, or acquaintances. I’m passionate about this field and helping others be able to be supported and encouraged in pursuing their life path.
