About

My name is Rebekah Barratt, PhD. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience as a therapist. I provide counseling and psychotherapy services to individuals, couples and groups focused on coping skill development and self-care practices that help clients connect to themselves and others and heal unresolved grief and trauma. My approach I use a client centered approach to meet the diverse needs of each person in treatment. My clinical experience is broad, covering a variety of treatment modalities and therapeutic approaches focused on communication enhancement, behavior modification, anxiety, depression & stress management multicultural issues. Areas of specialty include trauma focused interventions such as EMDR and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. However, my expertise is not limited to trauma and adversity. I am well aware that developing self-compassion and ability to trust and enjoy the good parts of our lives may also require therapeutic guidance. My focus I have worked with a wide range of adult women and men of varying age, race, sexual identity and culture and have always enjoyed the diversity of the clients I have served. I spent 12 years of my professional career providing therapy and support to multiple Tribal communities in San Diego County through Indian Health Service. So, indigenous values inform my therapy approach and are close to my heart in every session dedicated toward restoring balance and healing the influence of both seen and unseen traumas. My communication style I have a lot of passion toward this work and you will likely feel that energy from me immediately. Therapy is heart felt work, and I engage my job in just that fashion. I am direct, but I am also gentle. And, I do my very best to create a compassionate and safe space within our sessions for the healing process to grow and flourish. My journey to therapy I have always been intrigued by human behavior and why we humans do what we do.
