Hi, I'm Dr. Gwendolyn Martin, who goes by the name Dr. Gwen. I am a passionate, hard-working, devoted licensed professional counselor and former special education teacher, school counselor, and college professor. I absolutely love and am very passionate about helping others. I've dedicated the past 25+ years to working with children and adults during times of stress and struggle. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Professional Counselors Supervisor, and Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) with teaching certification in Behavior Disorders. I also have a Master of Education Degree in Counseling (school) and an Education Specialist Degree in Counselor Education (mental health) from Georgia Southern University (GSU). In 2009, I earned a Doctor of Education in Education Administration, also from GSU.
I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, anger management, relationship issues, parenting problems, and ADHD.
I provide aim to provide a safe judgment-free therapeutic space where clients feel seen and supported. My therapeutic approach is primarily geared toward Social Learning and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). However, a variety of techniques and interventions may be used. All sessions are personalized to meet the unique needs of each client.
