My therapeutic style is curious, respectful, humorous, and humble. As a fat, white, queer femme, I strive to live and practice within my values, often weaving feminist empowerment, multicultural psychology, and liberation practices with evidence-based psychotherapies. After I received my doctoral training at Nova Southeastern University, my work took me from Florida to Honolulu, Hawai’i, where I completed my clinical internship at VA Pacific Islands. There, I specialized in Women’s Health and Military Sexual Trauma before returning to the west coast in 2016 to continue working in VA Hospitals throughout California and Oregon. My postdoctoral career has been focused on the care of marginalized populations experiencing chronic health concerns, trauma, and stress—all at the intersection of oppressive systems. This work has shown me firsthand that therapy is co-created in an environment of safety, trust, and connection. I believe deeply in the power of a compassionate witness as we navigate the pains, pleasures, and complexities of the human experience. My approach to witnessing my own patients is rooted in three core tenets: Each of us desires to be our authentic selves. Change happens within relationships. It is your unique inner gifts and wisdom that will guide us in this collaborative therapy journey.
