About
Hello, my name is Dr. Desiree Delagarza Purcell. I am a licensed clinical psychologist and certified nutritionist with 28 years of serving diverse communities from all over the world. My employment with California government agencies and universities helped me develop an expertise in working with neurodiversity, depression, trauma, and anxiety disorders (including social anxiety, school anxiety, panic disorder, PTSD, and OCD of diverse types), and how these diagnoses can be impacted by the relationship in the gut-brain axis. I also has experience working with gender and sexual minorities, including those exploring or experiencing distress related to their identities. My approach In the process of conducting assessments and evaluations, I apply an inclusive, solution-focused, person-centered approach to learn about you and your symptomatology, while exploring your own thoughts and feelings in a safe space free from judgment or criticism. My focus I have the most experience working with neurodiversity, depression, trauma, and anxiety disorders (including social anxiety, school anxiety, panic disorder, PTSD, and OCD of diverse types), and how these diagnoses can be impacted by the relationship in the gut-brain axis.
