Hello, my name is Dr. Colleen Casady. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. I also recently graduated from USC with my Doctorate in Social Work. I have been working as a Social Worker for more than 25 years and have experience working with people from all different backgrounds who are struggling with a wide variety of difficulties. Like the majority of the world, I too have come from a difficult family dynamic and have struggled with mental health issues. I believe there is a lot to gain from living through issues and coming out ahead. You are not alone in your circumstance. I can help. The majority of my experience has been helping people who struggle with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, abandonment and loneliness, grief / loss, and the challenges of parenting. My approach tends to work within a Humanistic approach. I prefer this style due to the support it provides in keeping people in the present with the possibility to develop new coping skills/awareness moving forward. Essentially, life is going to happen, but it is how we respond or react to a situation that can allow us to grow or hold us back. I also work within a Cognitive Behavioral approach. To phrase it simply, in order to change an action or behavior, we must change the thinking behind the action or behavior. I am available to interact with you in whichever manner is most comfortable for you. I find it beneficial to participate in video sessions so that we can get to know each other better, but I am also available via phone and text if that works well for you.
