Dr. Brandon F. Heimberg, a licensed clinical psychologist in California, specializes in clinical and forensic neuropsychological assessments for traumatic brain injuries, medical conditions, and psychiatric disorders. He provides comprehensive evaluations, evidence-based treatments, and cognitive rehabilitation services for individuals aged 16 to end-of-life with cognitive challenges. He obtained his Master of Science and Doctorate of Psychology from California Lutheran University, receiving advanced training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) through a collaboration with Dr. Jamie Bedics and DBT creator Dr. Marsha Linehan. During his externship, he further honed his DBT skills at Ventura County Behavioral Health. Dr. Heimberg completed advanced clinical practica in neuropsychological assessment at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine. He further pursued an APA-Accredited neuropsychology internship at VA Illiana Healthcare System, where he specialized in assessing and treating Vietnam-era veterans. Returning to UCLA, he undertook a two-year clinical neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship. He conducted neuropsychological evaluations and cognitive rehabilitation for post-9/11 veterans through UCLA Operation Mend and complex medical and psychiatric neuropsychological evaluations at the Medical Psychology Assessment Center (MPAC). He has co-authored research in geriatric psychiatry and neuro-oncology and co-wrote the cognitive training manual for UCLA Operation Mend's BRAIN and Substance Abuse intensive treatment programs.
