Hello, I am Dr. Angela L. Exum. I am a native New Yorker who has lived in South Florida for the past 21 years. I have 30 years of experience in Education and providing Mental Health Services. I worked for Broward County Public Schools as a School Counselor, Behavior Specialist, Administrator, and an Exceptional Student Learning Support Family Counselor. I hold Certifications in School Counseling, School Supervision/Leadership, and I am a Nationally Board-Certified School Teacher/Counselor. As a National Board-Certified Counselor, I have served as a consultant to set National Standards for Counselors and served on the Development Content Advisory Committee. This makes me well versed in matters that involve school aged-children and parenting. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from SUNY @ Buffalo; a Master’s degree in Counselor Education from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York; and a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the states of Florida, Georgia, and New York. In addition, I am a Certified Supreme Court Family Mediator, Certified Active Parent Trainer/Educator, and Qualified Parent Coordinator in Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami Dade Counties. I am a full-time practicing Psychotherapist and Speaker for my organization Exum Life Counseling, Mediation, and Training Services Inc. Moreover, I am a published author and working on publishing more books for children and adults, as well as starting a podcast, X-rated Therapy. I have work in a myriad of diverse clinical and non-clinical settings that have allowed me to hone my skills to strengthen my counseling abilities. I am compassionate, empathetic, and enthusiastic about helping those who are struggling with mental health disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Career, or just everyday life and the stressors that may come your way.
