About

Hi there, I'm Denise! My name is Denise Seidman. I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 22 years. I use an integrative approach to therapy to see what fits my clients best. My focus areas of practice include anxiety and depression, relationship issues, grief, life transitions, separation and divorce, co-parenting, and work-related issues. My approach I use an integrative and holistic approach to therapy bringing together different elements of specific therapeutic modalities to best suit your individual needs. For instance, I may use cognitive behavioral therapy in conjunction with narrative therapy or rational emotive therapy, just to name some of the therapeutic models I may find helpful to a client. My focus I typically work with clients who are experiencing major life transitions that impact their relationships with loved ones or colleagues in their work environment. I help my clients work through depression and/or anxiety related to their life stressors. I also commonly help my clients process grief and loss, as well as work with elders as aging impacts their quality of life. I routinely work with young adults to help them find direction in their lives and establish desired goals. My communication style My goal as a therapist is to create a warm atmosphere of trust and confidentiality, non-judgment, and openness. I want my clients to feel comfortable discussing their most vulnerable issues and I check in with them often to make sure they feel okay with the therapeutic process. I am naturally a very calm and supportive person and that carries through in my work with clients. My journey to mental healthcare I have always wanted to help people find relief from emotional pain in their lives, as well as find understanding, purpose, and joy in their healing. We all go through hard times, and if I can help someone else through their pain, I feel like am doing something important in my life's work.
