About

My name is Danyelle Martinez, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Central California. I am currently focused on working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and several other issues using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to examine the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and actions and how we can use that relationship to start feeling better. My approach I believe every client has individual needs which would require an individual approach for every case. I most often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to examine how our thoughts can affect our feelings and actions. I also use some aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Radical Acceptance as needed. My focus I prefer working with adults experiencing anxiety and depression related to life changes such as job loss, divorce, a death in the family, among others. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly, as well as any race/ethnicity, cultural background, and religion. My communication style I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment to help clients feel comfortable opening up and discussing difficult things. I like to let the client take the lead in where treatment should go, without pushing or forcing. I also strive to be non-judgmental when discussing client issues in order the further create a healing environment. My journey to mental healthcare I received my Masters of Social Work in 2017 from Fresno State, and have worked in the mental health field since then. After working for several years in an inpatient mental health setting, I became a licensed therapist in 2021. I love working in the mental health field because I love hearing my client's stories, and helping them process their experiences into something meaningful. My goals for you Goal setting is a useful part of treatment, and helpful for a client to start to make small changes. In treatment, we would work together creating those goals and the timeline in order to achieve those goals.
