About

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed School Social Worker (LSSW) and a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC)in the state of North Carolina. I have been providing supportive social work services for youth and families in a public school setting for 23 years. I have provided part-time substance abuse services for 22 years and mental health clinical services for 5 years. I have a passion for helping others overcome barriers so they can become their “Best Self”. I have worked with a wide range of age groups and special populations. I have experience with a variety of mental health conditions such as substance abuse, depression, anxiety, addiction, anger management issues, grief/loss, trauma, relationship conflicts, and more.
I have a Person-Centered approach to therapy. I believe in helping a person and what they can do, not their condition or disability, or limitations. I focus on helping the person achieve their aspirations that are tailored to their needs and unique circumstances. However, depending on needs, treatment goals, and a person's desired outcome different therapeutic interventions are utilized; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
