Hello, my name is Connie Koerner-Bean. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri. I graduated with a Masters in Social Work from the University of Missouri in 2001. I have a unique blend of over 20 years of nursing, social work and counseling experience. During my career I have cared for individuals suffering from traumatic brain injuries, children with developmental delays and helping house families when disasters have impacted their lives. Throughout all of these settings I have come along side people working through a vast array of difficult circumstances; depression, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, trauma/abuse, interpersonal and family conflicts, parenting and aging challenges, as well as many others.
My approach to counseling is to create a relaxed and inviting space in which to welcome my clients; to develop a relationship that is safe, trustworthy and non-judgmental. I adjust my therapeutic techniques to meet the unique needs of the individual(s), using a variety of approaches such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), DBT (Dialectical behavior therapy) and SFBT (Solution Focused Brief Therapy).
