I am a licensed clinical social worker in Illinois with over 15 years of experience working as a counselor. I have worked with clients with various concerns, including toxic relationships, narcissistic abuse/recovery, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, dual diagnosis, self-esteem, relationship issues, and life changes. I have helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I have worked in inpatient, and outpatient treatment centers, juvenile justice programs, corrections, mental health, and crisis centers. I have worked with a wide range of individuals, from teenagers to seniors. I graduated in 2010 from the University of Illinois in Springfield with a master’s degree in human services, with a concentration in substance abuse, and graduated in 2011 from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana with a master’s degree in social work with a concentration in mental health. I am currently working on my doctorate in psychoanalysis. My counseling style is friendly and relaxed. I believe in treating anyone with respect, understanding, and empathy. I use several approaches, and I think every individual is unique. I tailor my approach to the individual and their needs. These approaches could be motivational interviewing, psychodynamic, strengths-based, Jungian, reality therapy, rational-emotive therapy, or cognitive behavioral therapy. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. The first step in change is exploring what could be different.
