About

Hello, I am Carrie Appleby Kittle, a dully licensed independent therapist with over 20-plus-years’ experience. I hold a license for ‘Professional Counseling’ and ‘Independently Licensed Substance Abuse Counseling’ with the state of Arizona. I have worked successfully with a kaleidoscope of people from various ages along the life-cycle continuum, from birth to elderly, couples, families, veterans, various cultures, race and genders.

I have worked in various settings including inpatient and outpatient, in community-based clinics, residential facilities, hospital settings, state agencies, contractual work with the state, as well as tribal health agencies, educational settings, including elementary, middle school, high school and universities both in-person and through teletherapy/health platforms. This has given me a very diverse experience, and a wealth of insight to individuals and groups. I am posted on Linked-in should you wish to view my vitea/resume.

I consider myself an eclectic therapist and generally draw on one or more theories of psycho-therapy including: cognitive, behavioral, somatic, motivational, psychoanalysis, psychodynamic, rational emotive, dialectical, holistic, gestalt, and existential therapy with the common thread of motivational interviewing techniques and always client centered used throughout all sessions.

My goal has always been and will always be to provide a safe and healthy setting for you to improve your quality of life and rise above any and all challenges you are experiencing. We all have various times in our lives find ourselves challenged by different situations at different times in our lives with education, family/relationships, social connections, work relations, job challenges, traumatic experiences, cognitive impairments, financial stressors, health, overwhelming feelings, that disrupt our ability to work thought things by ourselves. Sometimes we develop other symptoms that cause us to suffering; like depression, anxiety, PTSD, bi-polar, TBI, disruption in attention and thought processing, ADD/ADHD, substance use disorders and many others that can plague us as we try and navigate our way along the path that best fits us to find peace and joy.

I very much enjoy learning from my client’s as well; about your cultural, experience and beliefs that I believe are beneficial and core to helping you help yourself. The answers are in you to discover. I have many years’ experiences in working with various Dine’ peoples as well. This has not only allowed me to have insight and connection to understanding Indigenous peoples, but others from other communities other than my own as well. I pride myself on not only having “book learning” but ability to have insight from my own personal experiences and that that has been gained from my experiences in sharing the journeys of others. Our experiences might be different, but there is always common ground to find understanding and compassion with our feelings and thoughts.

It is always an honor when someone, or families who allow(s) me to walk with them on their path to provide support while they work though their challenges. It is very rewarding to see individuals find peace and happiness. This is the biggest payoff for me being a counselor. I believe we are meant to support and help one another as a part of our natural make up. Like Wolves, we are pack animals with a complex social system and ongoing growth and learning though development thought our life. The final can only be written after we expire and then an only then, I believe we have “become” our true self at our full potential. It is the respect I have for myself that I am in turn about to understand and respect and honor you. I think this is beautiful.

I’m excited to be part of the Find A Therapist network as it provides a great opportunity to reach others who might not otherwise may not be able to get the counseling wanted or needed. Should you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me and ask. I look forward to meeting you; learning about you and supporting you to find success in your current journey.
