My name is Carolina Myrvold and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Los Angeles County, California and I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I have been a Psychotherapist in Southern California for over 20 years where I specialize in parenting and infant mental health. Via telehealth I work with adolescents and adults and specialize in helping families and individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community. I use Relational Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals, parents, couples, and families find peace and wholeness in their relationships. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client. I most frequently utilize Relational Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help individuals find their way to loving and affirming themselves and others. I work with clients to identify what they would like to achieve in therapy and help clients set realistic goals to get there. I provide a safe space for clients to explore their life and make progress toward their goals. My focus I have found that my style and approach works well with adults, couples, parents, and families who are navigating the joys and challenges in the LGBTQ community. This often takes the form of identity exploration, anxiety, depression, and difficulty affirming self and others. I work to help clients navigate the changes and beauty of finding oneself and/or understanding family members who are finding themselves. I help individuals, parents, couples, and families feel better about themselves and their relationships, and to develop a more positive outlook on life. My communication style My communication style is honest, open, and genuine. I try to create a safe space for clients to feel free to be who they are and talk about anything. I bring experience and understanding of the changes and challenges a family faces when they begin their journey into the LGBTQ community.
