Hello! My name is Cara and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri. Prior to counseling I was a teacher and love the blend of those careers in my life! My role as a teacher, and particularly the last 8 years as a school counselor, has given me insight into the day to day struggles students and their families face. This gives me a unique lens in understanding that our experiences truly do shape us. This perspective enhances my ability to empathize with people of all ages and experiences in a private practice setting.

I believe that we are wired for connectedness and have a need to be understood and valued. I provide an inclusive environment where you will feel safe, supported, and motivated to grow. The process of counseling asks for a certain level of vulnerability and it can be intimidating for some. I am thankful that you have chosen to take that courageous step for yourself!

I would describe myself as open-minded, practical, and compassionate. I want to support you in tackling whatever concern you have identified in your life and help you to reach the outcome you desire. I will encourage you to reflect on your thoughts and feelings, and then the behaviors that flow out of them. With compassion, we will work together to reconcile incongruent thoughts, feelings, and actions so that you can experience balance in your mind and spirit. My goal is to help you find hope and restoration in the midst of your struggle, while developing lasting and sustainable change in the areas that are most important to you.
