I am a registered, board certified, licensed Art Therapist who obtained a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Art Therapy and Counseling at Long Island University Post. I have experience working with individuals between the ages of six and 90. There are several populations I work with including individuals with developmental disabilities, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and more. What is your approach to therapy? Have you ever had a hard time expressing your emotions through words alone? I am trained to help guide and encourage individuals to express and understand emotions through artistic expression and through the creative process. I use a person-centered approach to help individuals gain perspective and understanding to their emotional distress. This approach utilizes different types of interventions including art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? Art therapy is beneficial for people of all ages. Using the creative arts process, individuals are engaged in free self-expression while exploring their own abilities and interests, boosting self-esteem and confidence. Together, we will utilize Art therapy along with talk therapy.
