Hello. My name is Barbara Phillips, and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia. I have 23 years of experience working in the mental health field. My experience includes treating clients who need help with anxiety, depression. stress management, anger management, grief management, and self-esteem. issue My approach I use a client-centered approach with my clients. I strive to create an environment in which my clients feel safe and comfortable working with me. The most common theoretical approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focus, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). However, the theoretical approach I use will depend on which one works best for my clients. My focus I work with adults 18 years old to 90 years old. The conditions I feel comfortable treating include anxiety, depression, stress management, anger management, grief, and self-esteem issues. My communication style I strive to create an environment where my clients feel comfortable talking with me. I actively listen to what my clients tell me and validate their feelings. My journey to therapy I have had people who helped me get through challenges I was facing in my life, and this inspired me to become a therapist. My faith in God has also given me the desire to help others. I believe that God places people in our lives to help us. I get great satisfaction from helping my clients get through challenges and live a happy life. My goals for you My approach to goal setting with clients is to help them set the goals they want to achieve and to provide them with ongoing support. My first session with you I strive to make clients feel comfortable during the first session with me. I get information from them that will help me to know how best to help them. Future sessions will be scheduled for the clients if they feel that I am a good match for them.
