About

Hi! I’m Authur Carr, CEO, and Founder of Better Me Now, PLLC. I currently hold dual licensure as a Professional Counselor and as a Chemical Dependency Counselor. My passion is for working with individuals from diverse age groups, socio-economic backgrounds, genders, and sexes and getting to know their stories. Your Story Matters, just as I learned mine did. I know something about failure and suffering. I also know something about what it takes to be with what hurts in a way that leads to an unwinding of stuck, repeating, and critical patterns in our lives. It is only by learning to keep company with what hurts in just the way it needs, that we find our way home to our unique gifts and express them with the fullness of our being. It has taken me a while to get there but it has been a worthy journey albeit wild ride. Everyone has a story and everyone wants their story to be heard. Your story, your pain, and your collection of struggles are unique to you. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I truly believe in the transformative and therapeutic power of giving yourself permission to have a voice and tell your story in the language of your heart. I pride myself in making sure the individuals I work with aren’t viewed as “clients” but as experts on the subject matter of themselves and they are an integral part of the treatment team. As a team, we will spend time accurately understanding what you are experiencing and why. We will begin the process of looking at healthy changes that can improve your life in the NOW as well as be beneficial for the future. We will strive to understand your story and help you move forward with the type of life you want to live. I hope you become inspired to take the next step in your journey so that we can all benefit from what you have to offer the world. I help people do just that! The process of bringing forth YOUR story: To assist you, in not only telling your story; but growing from it I utilize a variety of techniques.
