My name is Ashley and I am a LCSW. I graduated with my Masters degree in Social Work in 2013. Much of my career has been spent as a hospital social worker which has provided me with a wide array of patients, clients, and circumstances for professional experience. As a frontline worker and mental health professional, we are often the first ones to help those in crisis situations. My career began in a community based hospital with focus on the Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Medical Floors. I worked closely with patient's during immediate trauma or crisis. I assessed for domestic violence, did bedside therapy and provided emotional support and future planning. I worked closely with patients to teach effective problem-solving & conflict resolution skills. I assessed for suicidal ideation and worked closely with our psychiatrist on staff to ensure proper care.

As a hospital social worker I spent much of my time with couples, families, and individuals.

Primary experience in: crisis, trauma, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideations, family problems, conflict resolution, substance abuse, and end of life/new diagnosis/life change.

My next hospital experience was a transplant hospital. Here I worked more as a counselor with a focus on the psychosocial aspect of preparing patient's for cardiac transplant. Using Psychosocial Assessments, Motivational Interviewing, and Talk Therapy, I worked with patient's to ensure proper care for surgery, post transplant, and emotional processing. I met weekly with patient's and was available more readily as needed.
