About
I am Armanda “Mandy Sue” Coulter and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-LCSW in the state of Oklahoma. I take a strength based-person centered approach as we are all unique and all have strengths even when we are unable to recognize them. I have experience treating depression, anxiety, substance abuse/addictions, Bi-Polar Disorders, PTSD-trauma, Marriage/Family Issues (relationships), Personality Disorders, as well as experience in working with underserved populations. My approach I am a strength based-person centered clinician that believes in making my clients feel heard and validated. I typically utilize some form of CBT-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist in challenging irrotational thoughts/beliefs and making positive behavioral changes. My focus I have worked with a variety of clients to include those with depression, anxiety, PTSD-trauma, Bi-Polar,Family/Relationship Issues, ADD/ADHD, Substance Use/Addictions, Personality Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, Anger Issues, and many others. I am comfortable treating and have experience working with a variety of diagnosis/issues. My communication style I am extremely laid back and provide a safe and comfortable environment for my clients. I am nonjudgmental and open making sure that my clients feel safe, heard, and validated. My journey to mental healthcare I am very passionate about my work because I have been on the other side “of the desk.” I have experienced trauma that lead to addiction, which caused me to lose custody of my children, and have legal issues. I got clean when I was 28 and decided that I wanted to be someone my children could be proud of and often wondered if I would have found a therapist that truly cared if it would have taken so many attempts at sobriety. Therefore I am a clinician that truly cares. My goals for you I typically ask clients what they expect to gain from therapy and assist them in creating goals that are obtainable.
