Hello! I'm Arleta James, LPCC. I really enjoy helping people overcome the challenges that bring them to therapy. I've spent my career to date facilitating post-traumatic growth for those who've experienced loss and/or abuse. I like to see people flourish in their relationships, in their self-image, identity and ability to maintain a mood free from depression and anxiety.

I have provided services to many folks that are adopted. I consider adoption-informed services crucial to adopted persons. I believe I have expertise in the areas of intimacy, loss, rejection, identity, shame, grief and mastery/control that frequently inhibit adopted persons from living the best quality life possible. I am versed on the pros and cons of search and reunion. I am able to support folks through this process if they choose this path.

I am a Master level professional. I completed my education at the University of Scranton, Scranton PA. I re-located to Ohio to pursue a career in the field of trauma, adoption and attachment. Ohio has a rich history of adoption providers. I was privileged to work with several experts in the adoption community. From them, I learned an array of therapeutic interventions to work with adoptees, their siblings and adoptive parents. After 21 years of providing services to all members of adoptive families, I'm still passionate about this work!
