About

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 21 years of experience working as a therapist and supervisor in a Community Mental Health setting. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, phase of life challenges, and difficulty managing and responding to emotions. I also have experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma and abuse, as well as substance abuse.

My therapy style tends to be warm, accepting and non-judgmental. Our work together will be client-led, as the client is the only expert on what it is like to be them and to live their life. The therapeutic modalities I tend to draw from most frequently include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.

Throughout the therapeutic process, the client will determine their treatment goals and what they hope to achieve in our work together. Once those goals are identified, we will collaboratively identify the steps needed to reach those goals. Our work together will focus on developing the skills and tools necessary to effectively manage your emotions, handle distress, problem solve and have the life you want. We will work on improving those areas of your life that feel like a struggle.

As you gain insight and understanding, self-growth occurs. With that growth comes change and, in that change, you will find your life worth living.
