About

“To finally move on and start something new, you must release the unchangeable past and embrace your future”

Releasing your past and taking steps toward your future can be frightening yet exciting and I’m here to support you. Hello, my name is Dr. Andrea R. Gourdine. I have a PhD and master’s in Developmental Psychology, as well as a master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling. I am thrilled to assist you in discovering hope and inner confidence while you overcome your challenges of low self-esteem and lack of motivation. Additionally, I have experience working with clients on anxiety, stress, suicidal ideation, anger management, and relationship conflict. My goal is to help you manage your symptoms, maintain balance, and discover a new, joyous outlook on life. In addition to individual therapy, I have also conducted couples, family, and group therapy sessions in private practice and school settings.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. It is my goal to provide the best level of care to you, while also challenging faulty thinking patterns in an effort to help you discover and become the healthy person you desire to be. Small changes like creating new daily routines, introducing meditation, or focusing on the present are just a few steps I suggest to clients to help them to get on the right track.

My therapeutic approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, and Person-Centered counseling. I tailor my approach specifically to clients’ needs. The most important part about your therapeutic journey is making progress towards the goals for yourself so you can embrace your future. I am here to assist you in your progress toward your goals.
