About

Welcome! Here you are, you've found yourself outreaching for additional support in living the life you desire and deserve. It is my job and pleasure to guide and support you on this new journey. Counseling can be intimidating at the start but it doesn't have to be. My role is to help you feel comfortable engaging with me about the most important and often times most serious and pressing happenings in your life. I plan to empower, encourage and push you through those roadblocks with compassion, humor and just plain old "keeping it real" when needed.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Georgia Southern University in 2004. I earned a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from Argosy University in 2009. After earning my Master’s degree, I passed the state licensing board’s test in my field. After passing this test, my work was closely supervised for a period of three years in order to meet all of the board’s requirements for supervision and experience to become fully licensed as an LPC.

My therapeutic style involves assisting you with arriving at your own insight in addition to providing strategies and tools that you can begin using immediately to make positive changes in your life. I combine cognitive behavioral and experiential techniques in working with individuals, children, and families. I approach counseling from a systemic view point and incorporate CBT , person centered and solution-focused perspectives with the focus on helping clients create solutions to problems. My number one goal is for you to say; you feel you are thriving again. We aren’t just going to sit and talk. I love to provide you with concrete tools aka homework wherever possible. This helps you put into practice what you’ve learned in session the days following our session and those leading up to our next session. Most importantly, we are going to make sure we are making progress on goals that you have for yourself in a concrete and identifiable way. I will be here to guide you, encourage you, possibly even challenge you if I feel you are standing in your own way. At the end of it all, you will be free to talk, laugh, cry, and say whatever you want to move yourself along your journey. I applaud you for taking this step and trusting me with your journey.
