About

Hi there, I'm Yantzi! Yantzi Sevilla Garcia, LMFT. My approach In working with clients, my theoretical approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Adlerian therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, and Positive Psychology, alongside Motivational Interview (M.I). I believe psychotherapy and treatment are not "one size fits all." Treatment is tailored to each client, considering their needs, psychosocial experience, and cultural background. My main focus during the initial phase of working with the client is to build a therapeutic alliance. I recognize the difficulties clients experience in trusting their personal experiences/thoughts/emotions, so I assist the client in making that process easier. My focus Before completing my master's degree, I worked with special education kids ages K to 12 for almost a decade. Since graduating from grad school in 2018, I have worked in intensive services for children, adolescents, and adults. My work experience ranges from working with stable clients to clients who have experienced severe trauma. I specialize in family, couples, and individual therapy. As a bilingual therapist, I utilized my cultural background to work with English and Spanish-speaking clients. My communication style My main objective in working with my clients is that they can feel heard and understood in each session. My communication style is personable to each client. I like to use humor to build rapport with clients and help them feel comfortable when meeting with me for the first time. My journey to therapy Coming to the States at 16 after experiencing my parents' separation made me feel lost and lonely. Without having anyone to lean on, I learned to navigate my emotions through self-improvement books and became fascinated with psychology. Throughout my journey, I found my life mission: Helping others to find their way by walking alongside them.
