About
Hi there, I'm Yangyang! My name is Dorothy Xie. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. My approach is evidenced-based and strength-based, solution focused and utilizes several modalities such as ACT, CBT, DBT, Family Systems, Gottman Method, Gestalt, EMDR, mindfulness, and more. I work with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of areas including depression, anger management, anxiety, behavioral issues, coping skills, cultural stress, relationship issues, family conflict, grief, and trauma & PTSD, amongst others. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on the needs and symptoms of each client I work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution Focus, and I also use Trauma-informed approaches and EMDR to help clients with complex trauma. My focus I have experience treating adults, seniors, children under age of 10, families of diverse backgrounds & orientations, and couples. The clients I work with have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, abuse, domestic violence, aging, and anger management. My approach to the healing process can bring increased awareness and insight to the self, help create new coping skills, and develop emotional regulation. Relationships often improve with deeper intimacy, connection, and vulnerability. My communication style It is important to me that my clients feel safe to allow for healing. In order to achieve this, my communication style is a calm, collaborative, accommodating, personable, and patient. I strive to provide a secure and compassionate environment for my clients to feel heard, seen, and held with whatever they bring into session without judgment where my clients can feel comfortable being fully themselves. My goals for you I apply a number of therapeutic modalities. I work to develop a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship through helping my clients explore and identify their goals.
