About

My name is Xochitl Perez (pronounced "Sochi"). I have been practicing as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the past nine years. My goal is to meet you where you are at and push you only as far as you are comfortable in order to shift you in the direction you need to go. I have worked with the following diagnosis: depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, ADHD, and many more. My approach My experience is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Art and Play Based Therapy. My focus If you are adjusting to a life change, challenged by conflicts within relationships, making a big life decision, hurting emotionally, or dealing with your own or another family member's mental health diagnosis, I am a professional and empathetic resource for you. My communication style I take a client-centered approach that is positive and supportive. I create a soothing and comfortable environment for my clients. My approach is both empathetic and compassionate. My journey to therapy I became passionate about psychology and the link between the mind and body in my college years. As a young adult, I found the value of working on one's mental health to be just as important as physical health. Daily choices, habits, and routines can greatly improve one's mental health. I love working with children, youth, and adults to help them improve their overall mental health. My goals for you Goal setting is done in collaboration with my clients. My first session with you First sessions are based around getting to know the client including understanding the issues and challenges they are presenting with. Treatment goals are formed within the first session and a plan on how the client will tackle these goals in subsequent sessions.
