About
Are you struggling with the effects of traumatic memories or with grieving or adjusting to a major change or loss? My name is Wesley, and I specialize in helping individuals address these challenges and find their way to a more fulfilling life. When it comes to trauma and to grief, there’s a big difference between a therapist who knows what they’re doing and one who doesn’t. I have years of experience helping hundreds of grieving people get to a place where they feel at peace and can live well with their grief, and have encountered many of the issues that often accompany the aftermath of a major change or loss. With trauma, the main way that I help people is with EMDR therapy, which is shown to be the most effective trauma treatment for the highest number of people. I was trained by EMDRIA, the foremost accrediting organization in EMDR therapy. I see clients’ lives change as they find freedom in the present from negative thoughts and feelings caused by events in the past. If you’re seeing me for grief, know that I understand that we can’t make your grief disappear overnight. As long as you love and remember the person who died, you’re going to be grieving. What I focus on is giving you tools to cope effectively with your grief so that you can move forward in life even as you live with your loss, and I provide a place of acceptance and support where you can process your challenges. If we’re using EMDR to treat trauma-related challenges, we’ll target memories that are distressing to you and give your brain the push it needs to process those memories so that you can integrate them in your life in ways that no longer bother you. To get started in working with me, I invite you to set up a discovery call with me to make sure we’re a good match as client and therapist, and I can answer any questions you may have. From there, I hope that we will schedule our first therapy appointment and get started on your healing journey.
