Wendy Molinaroli is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Certified Gottman Methodology Couple’s Therapist, and a Certified Sex Addictions Therapist, and EMDR trained. She has been helping people since 1987, starting her journey with investigation and treatment of childhood abuse and neglect, and working as a counselor on adolescent and adult units at Southern Pines, then Charter Hospital. She has worked with people from all walks in life, in all sorts of situations, providing assessment, guidance, counseling, monitoring, and support to individuals, couples, and families in crisis. She has served as a consultant for various media sources, The Post & Courier, WTMA Talk Radio, and WCIV news in Charleston, South Carolina. Most recently, she gave a presentation on the Neurobiology of Addiction at a Women In Recovery retreat, going into brain science, attachment theory, and hope for healing. She worked with families through the child abuse and neglect services of DSS, providing guidance, counseling, monitoring and support to families in crisis. She also provided treatment, support and referrals to children, adolescents, adults and their families at Charter and MUSC psychiatric hospitals. As part of the psychiatric emergency response team, she went to emergency rooms to consult with physicians and make decisions concerning patients in crisis. She worked as a school counselor at a local Catholic school for 10 years, donating a day every week to lead groups, and work with parents, students and teachers. She has designed groups for men and women in domestically violent situations, as well as taught groups for substance abuse, anger management, criminal thinking, parenting skills, and bullying. Mrs. Molinaroli is a Certified Gottman Couples therapist. She enjoys working with couples, and has trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy under Sue Johnson, PhD., the founder of EFT.
