About

Hi, I'm Vivian. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 24+ years of experience working as a psychotherapist and a Military Family Life Counselor. My approach My approach to providing therapy is to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Positive Psychotherapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. My focus My clientele consists of those 18+ years of age. All of my therapy sessions are TeleHealth videos. I am skilled in most areas. However, I prefer to work with clients who are in need of assistance with anger management, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, divorce, domestic violence, career changes, job burnout, and stress. At this time, I do not offer couples counseling or family therapy. I also do not speak Spanish. My communication style My goal is to help individuals who want to create better futures as well as providing them with a safe and comfortable environment which motivates and inspires one to change and improve their life. I do not take my clients for granted. I do not judge anyone. I believe in guiding my clients through their journeys with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. My journey to mental healthcare When I was 45 years old, I was at a career path dilemma. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go. I had been a legal secretary and paralegal for years. I consulted with a therapist and after a few sessions, I asked him if he liked what he was doing and why. My therapist suggested that I sit in a few psych classes at a local university and see if it might be a good fit for me. I did as he suggested, and WELLA! I knew within the first 5 minutes of the first class that I was 'home.' I knew that I wanted to help people. I just didn't know what path to take. My goals for you I approach goal setting with my clients by first asking them what brought them to therapy.
