About
Vincent Carrier MS, LCPC As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to understand how the past, whether family, relationships, traumatic events become the obstacles that prevent you from achieving YOUR goals. My efforts are focused on helping you recognize and understand how the mind collects, stores and uses this historical information. We work together to reduce and/or remove past issues, those obstacles that prevent you from having a happier, more fulfilled life. We work to develop coping strategies such as mindfulness and others. Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma focused therapies, EMDR and others, we help you understand and deal with the issues you struggle with. My approach Trauma focused therapies such as EMDR, trauma focused CBT, solution focused therapies, unconditional positive regard, Dialectical Behavioral therapy My focus I work with adult clients in a variety of issues. Many of the clients have anger management issues and involve domestic violence. In addition I work with traumatic mood disorders, bi polar disorders, depressive disorder, anxiety and explosive disorders. I work with couples in marriages and partner relationships to re establish trust, respect, communication and forgiveness. My communication style My office is a homelike atmosphere with barn board interior, pictures or farms, winter scenes, old cars and some antique items adorn the office. I have comfortable furniture that are almost new. I have been told I am an easy person to talk to and learn to trust. As I am a senior, a have been able to relate to many age groups. I also had many years working in the trades so blue collar individuals feel comfortable, as do professionals. My journey to mental healthcare I was a trades person from about age 20 to 40. While this was interesting it was not meshing with my personality. I am sensitive and I was lost in the non emotional atmosphere of the trades, unions, etc.
