About
My name is Victoria Wuest and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Redding, California, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with children, adolescents, and adults; I specialize in trauma, anxiety, and stress. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), harm reduction, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help my clients meet their goals and develop skills to help them feel better. My approach I utilize a strength-based approach that focuses on your internal strengths and resourcefulness. I predominantly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as my therapeutic modalities which aim to help focus clients on their identified goals and work towards them as well as develop client's skills to address problems in the future. I also utilize psychoeducation and harm reduction to strengthen the client's knowledge base and to improve physical, mental, and social wellbeing. My focus I found that my style and approach are a good fit for children, adolescents, and adults who may be dealing with a history of trauma, anxiety, and/or stress. I have experience with treating a wide variety of mental health disorders in an outpatient setting. My communication style I strive to create a warm and engaging environment for my clients. The therapeutic relationship is my highest priority as it is one of the most important components of treatment success. I believe that I create excitement to engage and work collaboratively on client's goals. My journey to mental healthcare I was initially driven to become a therapist to understand mental health and to help people succeed. I became a therapist to help 'scaffold' for people with mental health concerns, providing support to them until they were ready to stand on their own. I strive to help those who are 'misunderstood' or having difficulty functioning in the world, my hope is to help them become the best version of themselves.
