About

I am a Licensed Independent Mental Health Counselor with a specialty license in Drug and Alcohol Counseling with over 5 years experience working in the field as a counselor. I enjoy working with veterans, men, couples and those struggling with addiction. I also enjoy working with issues around PTSD and trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment, spirituality, relationship issues, and generally working towards having happy, healthy lives.

During our sessions you can expect a safe and welcoming environment where you can feel free to be yourself. I truly believe that rapport and therapeutic relationships are extremely important for therapy to be successful, therefore we will take some time to make sure I am the right fit for you. We will work in together to rediscover and recreate your story of hope and happiness.

I would describe my approach as honest, empathetic, person centered, and direct. I would also say I'm fun, non-judgmental and approachable. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, mindfulness, experiential and existential approaches to our sessions. I am also Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing(EMDR) trained. We will work together to find the best connections and solutions to the many hardships we deal with.

My hope is that my clients feel empowered, happy and confident after working through hardships with the help of counseling.

A little bit about me: Originally from the East Coast, from a military family. I love animals, have a couple of dogs, and a horse that I ride almost daily. I hope to bring horses into my counseling practice in the very near future because there is a huge benefit to equine interaction mental health therapies. My husband and I have been together since high school and work hard for our relationship. I love trying new things and having different life adventures.
