I have always said that every person at some point in their life needs therapy. Many think that therapy is something you need because something is "wrong" with you... the truth is that sometimes we all need someone to listen to us and guide us through life's ups and downs. I have been fortunate enough to help others when they have needed it for 20+yrs in the mental health/substance abuse field. As an outpatient counselor in substance abuse facilities, I have worked with people who have a variety of mental health diagnoses and from a variety of backgrounds. However, due to a number of factors, our time with them was somewhat limited, and my dream was to be able to work with people throughout their journey. So, I took the steps I needed to in order to begin private practice. Having seen how many people couldn't attend therapy because of distance or other commitments, I decided to use telehealth services, in hopes that I could provide others with a means by which therapy would be accessible and comfortable.
