I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a strong foundation in mental health. My journey includes achieving a Masters of Science in Social Work with top honors from Rutgers University and earning a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Iona College. Specialized training in drug and alcohol abuse complemented my academic pursuits. My practical experience spans an Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, where I took charge of group counseling sessions designed to educate and empower patients. My role extended beyond therapy as I closely collaborated with treatment teams to address clients' housing, legal, and mental health needs. I worked hand in hand with families and agencies to ensure holistic care throughout the treatment process. Earlier internships enriched my skills, from tailored counseling for visually impaired students to contributing to a drug abuse prevention program. My focus lies in tackling diagnoses such as Addictive Disorders, Substance Abuse, Anxiety, Depression, and Mood Disorders, catering to both teenagers and adults. I believe in a personalized approach, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy to tailor treatment to individual needs. I integrate solution-focused techniques with CBT strategies to delve into root causes, alleviate stress, and foster resilience.
