About
I see contacting a therapist as an act of courage and self regard. It means that there is a flame of self regard inside of you that still believes that if there's a better way, you're worth it! My job is to honor that courage by making counseling interesting and uplifting whenever possible. I don't claim to have all of the answers , but I believe that I'm a pretty good tour guide. What I don't believe is that anyone can go alone into a room, have a good "talking-to" with themself, and come out fixed. We need someone nonjudgemental, nurturing and direct to bounce things off, and get a fresh perspective. That describes me. After almost 40 years as a therapist, I have worked successfully with a huge spectrum of people. I have worked extensively with individuals and couples. I am certified in Addictions, and am a trained Sexuality Counselor. I have always seen many people with depression and anxiety; and all of what are termed "mood disorders." In short, I am someone who has seen it all, and I am familiar with every treatment approach, and am devoted to utilizing whatever works, with whomever I am seeing. I simply consider it a privilege to be along for the ride with you. The therapist works for you, so please see if you'd be comfortable talking with me.
