About

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado with 4 years of experience working as a therapist, and working to support people in various settings since 2000, including working in healthcare, eldercare, addictions, and teaching overseas. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. I also helped many people who have Borderline Personality Disorder and Bi-Polar diagnoses. I specialize in Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT).

First and foremost, my counseling style is reflective and validating. Through this, I support clients in finding their own solutions based on knowledge of themselves and discovering more deeply what they need. I often lead clients in a brief mindfulness exercise at some point during sessions, to practice invokin the relaxation response, and I teach clients tools to support them in creating the best possible outcomes. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral (DBT above), Transpersonal Counseling, a Relational-Cultural perspective, and Wilderness Therapy.
