About
Welcome. I believe you will be very happy you reached out for this support, and I am honored you are considering my help on your journey.
I obtained my Master's in Clinical Psychology from Millersville University in 2007 and earned my LPC for the state of Pennsylvania in 2012. Before heading back to school for my Master's degree, I worked as an educator at the elementary and secondary levels in both private and public educational settings. Before graduation in 2007, I participated in an internship for a local Domestic Violence shelter; working with women and children forced to leave their home to remain safe. My first posting after graduation was in a brain trauma unit, supporting clients suffering from traumatic brain injuries, providing cognitive therapy and interpersonal relationship skills. My journey continued when I joined an agency that provided outpatient and on-site school based therapy for elementary-aged students. In that role I supported students struggling with anger, anxiety, depression, focus and attention and trauma. My work with younger students often included familial relationships and when appropriate, group work to solidify learned social skills.
You will find, when partnering with me, I support your journey and encourage your input and feedback consistently throughout. You are the expert on you and my role is to help you determine the best course of action. I may provide opportunities for relaxation and mindfulness, if applicable, or more intensive trainings and instructions for skills sets when appropriate. It will all depend on your needs. Rest assured we will make progress on the goals you have identified, and I will be there to guide you, encourage you, and possibly challenge you.
Finally, I always want you to feel safe and secure in the environment we create when working together. Your healing journey is the most sacred work you may do and I am encouraged by your desire to complete that work.
