In these unprecendented times, we all need a safe haven. A place where we can go to be heard, encouraged and receive hope that things will get better. If better is not on the immediate horizon, than develop the belief that we can be strengthened to face the unknown and thereby know that we are not alone. Hello, I am a licensed professional counselor. I began my professional career as an educator. I continued my quest by earning a M.ED in counseling and guidance. After a successful career helping students as an educator and serving as a resource for teachers, I decided to go into private practice as a mental health therapist. I specialize in depression, anxiety, coping skills and trauma. I utilize my extensive education and experiences as a counselor to help clients tackle the challenges that they face. I help clients develop a positive self-esteem, and a sense of purpose. I help clients identify underlying stressors and help them activate healthy coping strategies. I use evidenced based approaches such as CBT, DBT, SFBT as well as motivational interviewing. Having a non-judgmental place to discuss and process your thoughts and feelings are essential to healing.
