About

I am a compassionate and caring person. I became a therapist because I wanted to help people become the best person that they could be, and I understood that in order to do this, one would have to have a healthy mind and good perception of oneself. I believe in wholeness and that the whole person is far greater than the sum of his/her parts. I am a big proponent of building self-esteem. When one has good self-esteem, even something difficult becomes less so.

I have been licensed in the state of Texas for 26 years as a licensed professional counselor. I am a graduate of Howard University, Washington, DC. I have worked in inpatient, outpatient and partial hospitalization settings. I have worked with children, adolescent , adult and geriatric populations; all of whom I have helped as well as learned from.

I believe that each client should be treated with dignity and respect regarding their unique set of issues. I believe in active listening and unconditional positive regard. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of therapy, and that through this relationship, clients build strength and self-esteem which will assist them in achieving their goals. I also believe that clients should be treated in an environment of safety and comfort to do their best work, and the Find A Therapist platform will provide this for each client.
