I am a highly motivated and dedicated Board Certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My motivation to learn and explore the similarities and differences among us spreads across the human development spectrum from working with toddlers to Vietnam War Veterans. I commissioned in the U.S. Navy and completed my Master of Social Work at the AMEDD Center and School at Fort Same Houston, San Antonio, Texas. I completed my clinical hours at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, and Lake City Veterans Hospital before reporting to my first duty station in Naples, Italy. I have seven years of post-graduate experience working with Civilians, Veterans, Military personnel, and their families. I have a diverse career that has ranged in many settings to include Inpatient/Outpatient Mental Health, Hospital Case Management, Emergency Care, Pain Rehabilitation, and Trauma.

My belief: Therapy is a collaborative, cooperative, problem-solving process, which actively involves both the client and their counselor to bring about emotional or behavioral change. It is a proactive, healthy approach to managing life stressors, working through past trauma, developing coping skills, improving communication, and changing behavior. Therapy is also a deeply personal experience that can take various forms, depending on the preferences of the client and the approach of the therapist. It is also a relationship between client and therapist that allows for change to take place in a safe, caring environment without fear of consequences or judgment.
